My First official Christmas

Christmas seems like very big day for Americans. l can saw it since my Mom prepared a lot for that day. My host mom even bought so many Christmas's presents for family and friends. Actually, l don't celebrate Christmas, but l tried to respect them by giving presents to my host family. In this first official Christmas, my host parents gave me lots of presents, such as winter clothes, chocolates, perfume, pictures, etc. l also gave them some souvenirs from Indonesia, like bag with Batik pattern, candle, and key hangers. l tried to use this time to learn more about American culture and also share more about my culture. It was such a great time to celebrate Christmas in United States.

Diversity of Friendship

My exchange year seems so perfect with the friendship. I have two best friends who also exchange students; they are Margarita Bicec from Moldova and Eva Puglia from Italy. Margarita is my host sister since I get double placement. She is like my own sister ever because l can always share with her about everything. Although we have some different characters, we such best friend who complete each other. I also have Eva as my neighbor. She is so friendly and kind. As real best friend, Margarita, Eva, and I often spending time together. We like to study together, watching movie, sleepover, and so many things. I am sure l will miss them after I come back to Indonesia. "Nice to have you guys as my best friends!"

My First Snow!!!

"Snow! Snow Snow!" I mumbled by crazy. I still remembered when my Mom just woke me up at 5 am to see my first snow. I was so excited because that was the first time I see snow. it was like the dream comes so true. Without any doubt, with pajama on, I went out the house and touched my first snow. Moreover, I tasted it just to make sure it was the real snow. I look so stupid when I grabbed my camera and took a picture of my self with the snow. I didn't realize that was so silly till I felt cold. After that, I ran right away to the house. I felt so satisfied because one of my dream seems real-to touch the snow, YES!

Ringing The Jingle Bell!!

The Christmas spirit touched everyone, including me. By this spirit, my friends and l decided to become volunteer for Bell Ringing, Salvation Army. The aim of this volunteering activity is for helping poor people in United States. As a volunteer, we just have to do simple things, such as ringing the bell between the doors in the grocery store and saying " Merry Christmas" or " Happy Holiday" when the customers come. To make it more fun, my friends and I even sang the Christmas songs and danced like crazy. Also, it was an unforgettable moment when l saw one of the customer dropped US $50 in the donation can. I was so happy because I felt like I can encourage people to give the donation. The time passed so fast till we didn't realize that our schedule time was ended and we have to change with others volunteer. Over all, I felt so happy on that day because l still can have fun with friend instead of helping people.
